Cookies pre-season!!
While a go when I was living in Porto and my sister in Stuttgart without knowing we start a tradition. She was living in Germany and she thought it was so adorable that every one made homemade cookies to offer as a Christmas gift. She started to do it in Germany and when she came to spent Christmas, we did it together too, that was the beginning of our «little tradition». Every year we search new recipes to try and today I made my favourite of all times Vanille kipfel cookies, German style 🙂
Ingredients:
280g flour
80g sugar
200g ground almonds
210g butter
icing sugar with vanilla sugar
80g sugar
200g ground almonds
210g butter
icing sugar with vanilla sugar
Mix all the ingredients together flour, sugar and almonds. Cut in butter with knives. Work quickly into a dough. Chill for 1 to 2 hours. Preheat oven to 180º C. Shape into small crescents moons and bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Roll the crescents moons in vanilla sugar mixed with icing sugar while hot, or sprinkle sugar on top of each cookie. Handle carefully as they break easily.
Sis I can wait this year for the cookie day!
And you? have you any Christmas tradition?
Have a delicious day!
